 SERGER BASICS LEVEL 1 Beginner

Experience all that your Serger can do.  Learn the parts of your Serger, how to thread and manage the tensions and how to trouble-shoot problems while creating a book of techniques in the first class.  Open to all makes and models of sergers.

This is the most traditional looking version of the Trip Around the World Quilt.  This is a simple strip method of sewing strips together and cutting them apart in different widths.  Unlike the traditional method there are no opposing seams to match!

  FRENCH BRAID CLASS Intermediate

The "French Braid" technique can produce a fabulous quilt that looks much more complicated than it is.  A quick quilt with dramatic results.  The reason French Braid quilts are everywhere is that they're addictive?  Strip piecing and careful shading have popularized and modernized this traditional pattern.  Once you discover how much easier these quilts are than they look, you'll want to make several.

 HAND APPLIQUÉ BASICS Beginner

Learn the basics of Hand Appliqué using the Heat Resistant Mylar method.  This method will open up a whole new world of appliqué.  A perfect class for beginners and even experienced Appliquérs will discover new and exciting things too!  She will be teaching a great method for building your appliqué pieces that uses starch and Heat Resistant Mylar.  You will be working on shaping leaves, stems and different parts of a flower shape.

Love the look of appliqué but don't have time for hand sewing.  This is the class for you!  All the basics of machine appliqué will be covered including how to transfer patterns, the different types of fusible webs, fusing, satin stitch, blanket stitch/buttonhole stitch, decorative threads and more.  Reference notes given.

Eleanor Burn's simple strip piecing and famous quick-sew techniques, allow you to create your own Radiant Star Quilt in a variety of sizes and in either a four-color or six-color star.  Sew straight strips together and then quickly cut into "diamonds" to create the star design.

DOUBLE DIAMOND STRIP QUILT  Beg/Intermediate

 Hand Quilting Basics Beginner

Learn how to enjoy this timeless craft.  Begin and end a line of stitches while doing the "rocking" stitch to form graceful lines of running stitches.  Also learn how to mark your quilting design, layer and baste your quilt to achieve quality results.  Tools, batting, threads, thimbles and more will be discussed and used.

6Introduce your child to sewing with this hands on class.  We will be creating a fun pillowcase all while introducing the basics of sewing safety, pivot, seam allowances, French seams and more.  Moms, Nannies, sons and daughters are all welcome!  Prerequisites:  Minimum age of 12, must know how to thread the sewing machine and bobbin.  No other sewing experience needed.
